Nanocapsules containing Saussurea lappa essential oil: Formulation, characterization, antidiabetic, anti-cholinesterase and anti-inflammatory potentials

Plant-based remedies have been widely used for the management of variable diseases due to their safety and less side effects. In present study, we investigated Saussurea lappa CB. Clarke. (SL) given its largely reported medicinal Specifically, our objective was provide an insight into a new polymethyl methacrylate based nanocapsules as carriers SL essential oil characterize biologic functions. The nanoparticles were prepared by nanoprecipitation technique, characterized analyzed cytotoxicity, anti-inflammatory, anti-Alzheimer antidiabetic results revealed that developed had diameter around 145 nm, polydispersity index 0.18 zeta potential equal +45 mV they did not show any cytotoxicity at 25 ?g·mL?1. also showed anti-inflammatory activity (reduction in metalloprotease MMP-9 enzyme RNA expression inflammatory cytokines: TNF-?, GM-CSF IL1?), high anti-Alzheimer’s effect (IC50 25.0 14.9 ?g·mL?1 against acetylcholinesterase butyrylcholinesterase, respectively), strong 22.9 75.8 ?-amylase ?-glucosidase, respectively). Further studies are required including vivo (e.g., preclinical), pharmacokinetic properties, bioavailability underlying associated metabolic pathways.
